Dysmenorrhoea: Cold Coagulating the Blood
Warm the channels, scatter cold, resolve stasis and stop pain. For cold cramping pain before or during menstruation, relieved by warmth, with dark clotted blood.
POINT SELECTION
RATIONALE
CV4 and CV6 warm the uterus and move qi in the lower abdomen; SP6 regulates the Penetrating Vessel and the liver, spleen and kidney channels that meet there; SP10 invigorates blood and resolves stasis; LR3 spreads liver qi. Beginning before the onset treats the stagnation while it is forming rather than after the pain has established.
