Moxibustion at ST36, CV4, BL20, SP10 and SP6 for 15 to 20 minutes each. Needling at SP10 with tonifying method may be added.
Uterine Bleeding: Spleen Failing to Govern Blood
Strengthen the spleen, benefit qi, consolidate the Penetrating Vessel and stop bleeding. For bleeding outside the normal time, profuse and pale, with fatigue.
POINT SELECTION
RATIONALE
BL20 and ST36 strengthen the spleen so that it can hold blood within the vessels; CV4 regulates the uterus and consolidates; SP10 is the point for blood disorders, used here in its tonifying aspect; SP6 regulates the Penetrating Vessel. Prolonged bleeding depletes qi, so the treatment tonifies rather than stanches.
