RATIONALE
LR14 and CV17 are the local points at the chest and breast; ST40 transforms phlegm; LR3 spreads liver qi, which is the origin of the stagnation; LI4 moves qi in the upper body. The prescription treats the mass through the pattern that produced it, which is why it is given over cycles rather than in a single course.
