Vertigo: Phlegm-Damp Obstructing the Middle
Strengthen the spleen, transform phlegm, raise the clear and descend the turbid. For dizziness with a heavy head, chest oppression, nausea and a greasy coating.
POINT SELECTION
RATIONALE
ST40 transforms phlegm; SP9 resolves damp through the lower burner; PC6 descends rebellion and stops nausea; GB20 and GV20 clear the head. The pair of ST40 and SP9 treats the source, since phlegm of this kind forms when the spleen fails to transform fluids.
SOURCE
After Zhu Danxi’s dictum that “without phlegm there is no vertigo,” with the needling formulas that resolve phlegm
