| LOCATION | At the centre of the umbilicus. |

| INDICATIONS | Cold of the abdomen, diarrhoea, prolapse of the rectum, collapse from yang deficiency, oedema. |
| ACTIONS | Warms yang, restores consciousness, harmonises the intestines and stomach. |
| NEEDLING | No needling. |
| MOXIBUSTION | Moxa cone 5 to 15 cones, often with salt or ginger as an interposed material. |
| CAUTION | Moxibustion only; the umbilicus must not be needled. |
