Moxibustion at CV8 with salt, and at ST25, ST36, SP6 and BL20 for 15 to 20 minutes each. Needling at ST36 and SP6 with tonifying method may be added.
Diarrhoea: Spleen Deficiency with Damp
Strengthen the spleen, transform damp, warm the middle and stop diarrhoea. For loose stools, poor appetite and abdominal distension, worse after greasy food.
POINT SELECTION
RATIONALE
CV8 with salt warms the origin of the middle burner; ST25 regulates the intestines; ST36 and BL20 strengthen the spleen; SP6 resolves damp through the lower burner. Chronic diarrhoea of this kind is a deficiency pattern, so the treatment tonifies and warms rather than drains.
