Needling Stroke

POINT SELECTION

Needle GV26, PC6, SP6, LI11, ST36 and GB34 with reducing method, retaining 30 minutes. Treatment is given daily or on alternate days over several weeks, with rehabilitation continued alongside.

RATIONALE

GV26 and PC6 open the orifices and restore consciousness; SP6 nourishes yin and blood; LI11, ST36 and GB34 free the channels of the affected limb and benefit the sinews. The combination addresses both the acute disturbance and the persistent obstruction, and it assumes that acupuncture supports rather than replaces rehabilitation.
