Sore Throat: Wind-Heat and Deficiency Fire
Clear heat, benefit the throat, nourish yin and descend fire. Excess is reduced, deficiency is tonified.
POINT SELECTION
RATIONALE
LU11 is the jing-well point of the lung channel and the standard point for acute throat inflammation; LI4 and LU7 release the exterior and clear the throat; KI6 nourishes kidney yin, which is the source of deficiency fire. Distinguishing the two patterns determines whether the treatment drains or supplements.
