| LOCATION | Below the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra, on the posterior midline. |

| INDICATIONS | Fever, malaria, cough, asthma, epilepsy, stiffness of the neck, pain of the back, deficiency of qi and blood. |
| ACTIONS | Releases the exterior, clears heat, dispels wind, tonifies yang. |
| NEEDLING | Oblique insertion upwards 0.5 to 1 cun. |
| MOXIBUSTION | Moxa cone 3 to 7 cones; mild-warm moxibustion 15 to 20 minutes. |
